About Trade Beads:

Trade beads, also known as "Trade Beads," were produced in Venice, Bohemia, and other European countries from the late 1400s to the early 1900s for trade with the African and American continents. These beads were exchanged for gold, ivory, and slaves in Africa, and for furs with Native Americans in North America. Trade beads reached their peak in the mid-1800s to early 1900s, with millions of beads being produced and exported to Africa. The majority of these beads were produced in Venice.
