Other Trade Beads:

During the African slave trade era, these beads were fervently cherished as adornments by kings and nobles. Crafted extensively in Venice and the Czech Republic (Bohemian glass), they were traded globally, including in Africa, for slaves, gold, ivory, and more. The glass bead-making techniques were highly secretive, with artisans often restricted from going out freely. Unlike beads made for the European market, these beads were meticulously designed to cater to the tastes of various tribes, resulting in a wide array of designs, sizes, and patterns.
