About Dzi Beads (Striped Dzi Beads):

Dzi Beads are ancient beads from Tibet, similar to Etched Carnelian Beads, created by baking natural dyes onto agate to form intricate patterns. These beads are believed to date back to approximately the 1st to 6th centuries AD. Despite their age, the specific components of the dyes used remain a mystery, adding to their enigmatic allure. While primarily found in Tibet, Dzi Beads have also been discovered in regions such as Bhutan and Ladakh in the Himalayan mountains. The beads feature various patterns, each with its own symbolic meaning. Among them, beads with circular "eye" patterns are particularly prized for their quality and significance. In Tibetan culture, they are considered talismans for wealth and prosperity, cherished and passed down through generations. In recent years, Dzi Beads have gained popularity in China under the name "Tian Zhu," with many replicas made using similar techniques. However, authentic ancient Dzi Beads are highly rare and valuable.
