About Chinese Warring States Beads:

Warring States Beads, also known as "戦国玉" in Japanese, were crafted during the Warring States period (5th to 3rd century BCE) before the unification of China by the Qin dynasty. The earliest Chinese glassware, discovered in Henan Province's Luoyang, dates back to the 11th to 8th centuries BCE. However, it wasn't until the Warring States period that glass products began to be widely used. Early Warring States beads were primarily made from faience, a type of ceramic material with glass decorations. Later, fully glass beads were produced. Popular designs included "seven-star beads" and "贴眼玉" (eye beads) featuring dot patterns. Although the techniques and design elements originated from Western Asia, Chinese glass from this era used different materials, demonstrating the advanced glassmaking skills of ancient China. These beads not only hold historical significance as the beginning of China's glass history but also attract many enthusiasts due to their rich designs and vibrant colors.
