About Chinese Warring States Beads:

Warring States Beads refer to glass beads created during the Warring States period (5th to 3rd century BCE) in China, prior to the unification under the Qin dynasty. The earliest glass found in China dates back to the 11th to 8th centuries BCE, discovered in Luoyang, Henan Province. However, it wasn't until the Warring States period that glass products became widely circulated. Early Warring States beads were primarily made of faience, a ceramic material adorned with glass patterns, which later gave way to fully glass beads. Common designs include "Seven Star Beads" and "Eye Beads," characterized by their dotted patterns. While the glass-making techniques and design elements were influenced by West Asian regions like Roman glass, the materials used in Chinese glass from this era differ in composition, showcasing the advanced glass-making technology of ancient China. These beads hold significant historical value as the inception of Chinese glass history and are beloved by collectors for their intricate designs and vibrant colors.
