About Warring States Beads:

Warring States Beads refer to glass beads made during the Warring States period (5th to 3rd century BCE) in China, before the unification under the Qin dynasty. The earliest Chinese glass, dating back to the 11th to 8th centuries BCE, was discovered in Luoyang, Henan Province. However, widespread glass production began in the Warring States period. Early Warring States beads, known as faience, were made with ceramic bases decorated with glass patterns. Eventually, entirely glass beads were produced. Common motifs include "Seven Star Beads" and "Eye Beads" with distinctive dot patterns. While the glass-making techniques and designs were influenced by Western Asia, the materials used in Chinese glass differ in composition, highlighting the advanced glass manufacturing techniques of ancient China. These beads are not only historically significant but also admired for their intricate designs and vibrant colors, making them highly collectible.
