About Ancient Chinese Warring States Beads:

Warring States Beads, known as "戦国玉," were produced during the Warring States period of China, before the unification by Qin, around the 5th to 3rd century BCE. The oldest glass in China, dating back to the 11th to 8th century BCE, was excavated in Luoyang, Henan Province. However, it wasn't until the Warring States period that glass products began to be widely distributed.

Early Warring States beads were primarily made of a ceramic material called faience, decorated with glass patterns. Later, fully glass-made beads also became common. Many beads from this era feature patterns made with dots, known as "Seven Star Beads" or "Eye Beads." Although the glass-making techniques and designs were influenced by Western Asia, the materials used in Chinese glass from this period differ in composition, showcasing the advanced glass manufacturing technology of ancient China. These beads are not only of historical significance as the beginning of China's glass history, but they are also admired for their intricate designs and vivid colors, attracting many enthusiasts.
