About Dzi Beads (Chong Dzi Beads):

Dzi Beads are ancient beads native to Tibet, crafted similarly to etched carnelian by burning natural dyes onto agate to create intricate designs. These beads are believed to date back to approximately the 1st to 6th centuries AD. Despite their age, some aspects, such as the composition of the dyes used in the burning process, remain a mystery. While primarily found in Tibet, Dzi Beads have also been discovered in Bhutan and the Ladakh region of the Himalayas.

The different patterns on Dzi Beads are said to hold various meanings, with the round "eye" patterns being particularly prized. In Tibet, these beads are considered talismans of wealth and prosperity, often passed down through generations as cherished adornments. In recent years, their popularity has surged in China, where they are known as "Tian Zhu" (Heavenly Beads). Although many replicas made with similar techniques are available, authentic ancient Dzi Beads remain highly rare and valuable.
