About MALAIKA:
"MALAIKA" means "angel" in Swahili, reflecting the brand's dedication to the warmth of traditional craftsmanship from Asia, Africa, South America, and beyond. Since its inception, MALAIKA has been committed to conveying the charm of handwork and traditional techniques such as block printing, hand embroidery, hand weaving, natural dyeing, and tie-dye. Abundant use of natural materials highlights the cultural and artisanal beauty of the regions they represent.
About Dub Printing:
Dub printing is a traditional mud resist technique widely practiced near Jaipur, India. The method involves applying a paste made from mud and other materials (Dub) onto the fabric using wooden blocks. After drying, the fabric is dyed, and the Dub is washed off, leaving behind undyed areas. This process results in beautiful, deep, and nuanced patterns, with varying shades depending on the dyeing method and frequency.
