About Chong Dzi Beads:

Dzi beads are ancient beads originating from Tibet. Like etched carnelian, they are designed by firing natural dyes onto agate. These beads are believed to have been made around the 1st to 6th centuries AD. The dyes used in their firing process remain partly unexplained, making them one of the mysterious antique beads. While primarily discovered in Tibet, they are also found in regions like Bhutan and Ladakh in the Himalayas. The varying firing patterns are said to convey different meanings, with the round "eye" motif being particularly popular. In Tibet, Dzi beads are considered talismans of wealth and prosperity, cherished and inherited over generations as valuable adornments. Recently, their popularity has surged in China, where they are known as "Tianzhu." Many replicas made using similar techniques are now available, but the original ancient Dzi beads remain highly rare and valuable.
